Suspect in fatal Albouystown bar attack held

-being questioned on other murders

The suspect in the murder of Senassie Lewis, who was gunned down at a shooting at an Albouys-town bar last month, was captured yesterday.

The man, who has been identified as a member of a dreaded gang based in East Ruimveldt, is expected to face a murder charge over Lewis’ death. He is also being questioned extensively about his alleged involvement in two other murders and a series of gun related crimes, a police source told this newspaper.

The man, who is known as “Warlock,” was captured in the city during a Joint Services operation. He was described in a police statement as an “elusive suspect” who had been evading the police for quite some time.

This newspaper has learnt that ‘Warlock’ is a close relative of Kieron Taylor, who has already been charged with Lewis’s murder last month.

Lewis, 22, of East Ruimveldt, was at a dance at the bar, located at James and Albouys streets, Albouystown around 3 am on September 4th when two gunmen walked up and opened fire. He was later pronounced dead on arrival the Georgetown Public Hospital after being shot multiple times about the body.

He was said to have been the causality of an ongoing gang war.

Kurt Francis, 16, of Princes Street, Jonathan De Freitas, 20, of Diamond Housing Scheme, and Jamal Bascom, 23, were also wounded in the shooting.

Both De Freitas and Francis were discharged from the hospital as they sustained minor wounds, but Bascom remains hospitalised with a bullet still lodged in his left leg.

According to an eyewitness, two men walked up to the crowd of people where Lewis was standing and opened fired on him. After they fired about 14 shots and saw his body drop to the ground, they ran towards a white car and escaped.
