Child Protection Agency’s Linden sub-unit performing well with limited resources

Dear Editor,

Your editorial today (June 4) scorched the seat of the Child Protection Agency’s Director for behaviour considered less than professional by her new bosses. You also stated that there is a lot more for the outfit to do for children. I am saying without any fear that the sub-unit in Linden under Ms Marshall, Ms Beckles and others has been doing a herculean task with extremely limited resources and access to help in a pallid and highly devastating socio-economic environment. Mrs Beckles is always in my face wanting more space for her unit. She even got me to speak with Ms Greene about a piece of land to build a home so that their work could be made easier. That has not come to fruition under the previous administration but with the new bosses I hope it will be in the making shortly.

Let me not leave the police out for encomiums, as they have been helping this unit immensely. I hope good sense prevails so that this much needed work for our children could be enhanced and taken to a higher level.

Nuff respect.

Yours faithfully,
Orrin Gordon
