Dear Editor,
Now that the general election of May 11 is over may I take the opportunity to reiterate that consensus politics is the way forward. Consensus politics is where we work together through co-operation, building trust, mutual understanding and mutual respect.
The governing APNU+AFC coalition and the opposition PPP/C need to work together. It is a good start to work together on the Venezuela-Guyana border controversy. But much more is needed.
As I have said before, whoever won the general election will need to work with the opposition to ensure Guyana progresses at a faster pace.
