Waiting for four years for landlines in Herstelling New Scheme

Dear Editor,

GTT is providing free wifi to churches, and other places will soon get that service. But what about those who are without a landline telephone service?

Herstelling New Scheme opened in 2011, and residents wrote several letters, and went in to GTT and made enquires, but there was no answer as to when the service would be given to residents there. Cell phones are very expensive, and if there is some emergency and you don’t have enough credit, what will happen? How can GTT offer free wifi when the landline service is not being attended to in those new schemes?

This is very important. I had to give up my landline before I moved to this new scheme, and it is a long wait from 2011 to 2015. Just what is keeping GTT from installing landlines in Herstelling New Scheme? I would like the general manager to say why this service is not available to residents as yet, and when it will be.

Yours faithfully,

I Braithwaite
