Blockade should be removed and bridge built so the children of Annandale can have easier access to their school

Dear Editor,

Please permit me to compliment Minister of Social Cohesion Amna Ally, in congratulating the residents of De Kinderen, West Coast Demerara, for having a bridge constructed thus enabling schoolchildren easy access to their school. It is also good to know residents are concerned about their children’s safety in using the public road to go to school.

Editor, there’s a similar situation between Buxton and Annandale whereby the streets of Annandale North were blocked since the crime wave and schoolchildren are also forced to walk along the main road or use the road at the back of Annandale North to attend school. Much time is lost for this exercise daily. I, as a parent, would like to see the Minister use her good offices to get this situation remedied, whereby these barriers can be removed and bridges can be built so that life can be made easy for these children, as well as elders who visit the Annandale Market.

Yours faithfully,
