What about a clean elections doctrine?

Dear Editor,

I support and endorse almost all the points made by Mr Rashleigh Jackson in a letter captioned ‘Clean hands doctrine’ (SN, Dec 15). Isn’t Mr Jackson forgetting something? He served a PNC government that rigged elections and in so doing held office fraudulently and illegally. Would Mr Jackson tender an apology for his role in denying the nation its right to elect a government of its choice and vow never again to condone election rigging? And would he also join me (as well as others) in calling for a clean election doctrine? This will contribute to the evolution of clean politics in our homeland.

Yours faithfully,

Vishnu Bisram
