GCB President’s XI to clash with champs Demerara in U15 opener

The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) will bowl off its Under-15 Inter-County limited overs tournament tomorrow with a clash between the GCB President’s XI and defending champions, Demerara, at the Demerara Cricket Club (DCC) ground.

Demerara skipper Ashmead Nedd’s team will oppose the Joel Spooner led President’s XI in tomorrow’s first match while on Monday over at the Wales Community Centre ground Berbice and Essequibo will square off in their first match.

Tuesday’s second round will be a double header with Berbice squaring off against the defending champs Demerara at Enmore while Essequibo and the President’s XI will lock horns at the Police Sports Club ground, Eve Leary.

The third round on Thursday features an Essequibo/Demerara clash at Wales and the GCB President’s XI versus Berbice clash at Everest Cricket Club ground. The top two teams will then meet in the final on February 21 at Wales Community Centre ground.

Each match will commence at 9:00 hours. The teams are as follows:

Demerara: Ashmead Nedd (Captain), Avin Gangadin, Robin Williams, Jamal Michaels, Alphius Bookie, Chandra Mohan, Adrian Hinds, Pradesh Balkisson, Omar Torrington, Jeremiah Scott, Parmanand Goontipersaud, Daniel Scott, Jospice Jones, Andrew Persaud. The Manager is Richard Albert and the Coach is Garvin Nedd.

Berbice: Kevlon Anderson (captain), Alex Algu, Junior Sinclair, Brandon Mangal, Andrea Bissoondial, Seon Glasgow, Kelvin Omroa, Antonio Kempadoo, Nivendra Persaud, Cheddie Boodhoo, Gevon Schultz, Haife Walters, Garfield Benjamin and Davendra Somra. The Manager is Kwesi Maltsy and the Coach is Andre Percival.

 

Essequibo: Orlando Jailall (Captain), Bhomesh Ramdahin, Mahendra Dindyal, Arnold Adams, Bhumeshwar Ramkissoon, Romario Stephen, Amos Sarwan, Ramesh Persaud, Sheldon Charles, Esho Persaud, Azim Fredericks, Parsram Singh, Sevond Dess, and Kevin Standiford. The Manager is Vickram Ramnarine and the Coach is Forbes Daniels.
