Colts, Bankers Trust Falcons clash in Road to Mecca b/ball

The second round of the second annual Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) ‘Road to Mecca’ National Club Championship will continue today at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall on Homestretch Avenue with a doubleheader.

With Trinity Grid Pacesetters, Plaisance Guardians, Pepsi Sonics and the Kashif and Shanghai Kings already securing their berths to the next round following opening night victories, Georgetown-based unit and third ranked Colts will faceoff with 14th ranked Linden unit Bankers Trust Falcons from 19:30hrs.

In the feature contest, last year’s runners-up Retrieve Raiders will oppose the 15th seeded NA Warriors from 21:30hrs. Winner of the tourney will pocket $400,000 and the championship trophy while second, third and fourth place finishers will receive $200 000, $150 000 and $75 000 correspondingly.

The tourney will also be used as part of the selection process for the upcoming international series against Bermuda slated to be hosted in the month of March.
