Renaissance FC and the Georgetown Football Club (GFC) were clash for the inaugural Massy United Insurance Company sponsored Fruta Conquerors U-15 title, defeating Western Tigers and Santos respectively yesterday in the semi-final round.
Hosted at the Tucville Community Centre ground, the East Ruimveldt based unit Renaissance overcame arch-rivals Western Tigers by a 1-0 score line. Bevney Mosley settled the matter in the favour of Renaissance with a seventh minute strike.
Meanwhile the Bourda based unit upset Santos FC by a 2-1 margin. Kellon Blue opened the scoring for GFC in the ninth minute with a powerful strike from the right side of the box into the back of the net.
Blue would then increase their lead two minutes onward, completing his first half double with a placed right footed attempt into the lower left hand corner from within the centre of the penalty area.
Santos would eventually pull one back in the form of Randy Roberts who netted in the 37th minute with a strike into the left corner of the net. With the wins, Renaissance and GFC will faceoff for the title on Saturday April 4th at the same venue.
