Guyana Beverage Company under its ‘Fruta Brand’ continued their long standing commitment to Tucville based institution Conquerors FC, renewing their annual partnership yesterday at a simple presentation ceremony at the former’s Diamond Headquarters.

The sponsorship package which rises over the tune of one million dollars and includes uniforms for various levels, is the 12th consecutive year that the beverage giant has partnered with the renowned Georgetown club.

Managing Director of the corporate entity, Robert Selman during the feature address said the company is once again pleased to be associated with club under its flag ship brand, declaring that the club has made a significant contribution to the emergence of the product locally.

According to Selman, the company was the first to sponsor a football team and that the time has come locally for a professional league to be commissioned so that the standard of the sport can rise.

He said that they are many large corporations around and that they could sponsor different teams so that a league similar to what is in his home land of Trinidad and Tobago can come to fruition.

He further noted the management staff of the club is very serious about the image of the brand, noting that’s one of the reasons why the company continues to partner with the club as it is an investment that has been producing the necessary returns.

“We wish the club all the best in the future and we will continue to sponsor the team under the same brand going forward” he added.

President Wayne Forde thanked the company for continuing their partnership with the club, declaring that their partnership has lasted much longer than many marriages worldwide.

He noted that Fruta Conquerors is renowned for developing many of the country’s best players and that is largely in part to the continuing support from the company on an annual basis.

Forde further said that while the club has fallen off in the senior department due to the exodus of players during the transfer periods, they remain competitive locally and that the aim is to return to their glory days of yesteryear.

He further said he is happy at the relationship between the two entities and that the club is always willing to further advance the image of the company and its brand in any capacity. Daniel Thomas, Secretary of the Club echoed the earlier sentiments of the President while noting that the Tucville giants always try their utmost to represent the brand as best as it can.

He further thanked the Diamond based entity for their continued support of the club, stating that he hopes the relationship continues to prosper for years to come.
