Meckdeci, Wiltshire continue impressive form

Benjamin Meckdeci and Shomari Wiltshire continued their impressive form in the Guyana Squash Association (GSA) sanctioned Woodpecker Products Junior National Championships, securing multiple wins on Saturday morning at the Georgetown Club Facility on Camp Street.

Meckdeci crushed Alex Cheeks in straight sets 11/1, 11/4, 11/6 and Daniel Islam in similar fashion 11/4, 11/2, 11/9. Wilshire on the other hand, defeated Lucas Jonas 11/3, 11/1, 11/3, Samuel Ince-Carvahal 11/1, 11/1, 11/4 and Anthony Islam 11/3, 12/14, 11/6, 11/1.

Also securing wins was Matthew Phang who overcame Daniel Islam 5/11,11/7,5/11,12/10,11/9 and Alex Cheeks 11/5,4/11,14/12,6/11,11/7 while Ethan Jonas defeated James Meckdeci 11/0,11/0,11/7 and Zach Persaud 11/4,11/3,11/3.

In other results, Rebecca Low defeated Adriel Latchmansingh 11/0,11/0,11/2 and Maya Collins 11/7,11/1,10/12,11/4 while Haley Carpenter defeated Geovanna Dos Santos 11/4,11/9,11/5 and Makeda Harding defeated Sarah Lewis 13/11,9/11,7/11,11/9,11/5.

In the final matches of the section, Paige Fernandes defeated Isabella Ramjohn 11/4, 11/4, 11/3, Lewis defeated Adriel Latchmansingh and Kirsten Gomes defeated Beau Fernandes 11/1, 11/3, 11/0.

On the male side, Chad De Abreu defeated Noah Rahaman 11/1, 11/3, 11/3 and Nathan Rahaman 11/8, 11/7, 11/7 while Michael Alphonso defeated Demetrius De Abreu 8/11, 11/4, 11/4, 11/6 and Gareth DaSilva 11/1, 11/1, 11/1.

Continuing in the division, Noah Rahaman defeated Wade Beckles 11/9,11/9,12/10 while Kamir Khan defeated James Meckdeci 12/10,11/5,11/7, Mohyryan Baksh defeated Shiloh Asregado 11/3.11/0,11/2 and Louis DaSilva overcame Shiloh Asregado 11/8,6/11,11/4,6/11,11/9.

Also claiming wins were Jason Gomes who defeated Gareth DaSilva 11/4, 11/3, 11/4, Dominic Collins who edged Gianni Carpenter 11/6, 11/9, 11/2, Nathan Rahaman who defeated Wade Beckles 11/3, 11/4, 11/3 and Zach Persaud defeated Kamir Khan 11/4, 11/5, and 12/10.

In the final four matches, Liam Carpenter defeated Mashal Allicock 12/10,11/6,12/14,11/4, Samuel Ince-Carvahal defeated John Phang 8/11,12/10,11/4,11/6, Demetrius DeAbreu edged Liam Carpenter 11/5,11/1,11/2 and Lucas Jonas defeated John Phang 11/3,5/11,11/5,11/8. On Friday evening at the same venue, Nyron Joseph dismissed Matthew Phang with ease in straight sets 11/5, 11/9, 11/0 while Meckdeci overcame Alec Melville in straight sets 12/10, 11/4, 14/12. On the other hand, Wiltshire downed Sarah Lewis 11/3, 11/0, 11/1.

Similarly registering impressive wins was Kirsten Gomes who defeated Geovanna DoSantos 11/1, 11/1, 11/3 and Abosaide Cadogan 11/6, 11/2, 11/2 while Alexander Cheeks dismissed Anthony Islam 11/5, 11/7, 12/10.

In female division, Rebecca Low defeated Makeda Harding 12/10, 11/6, 11/4 while Maya Collins defeated Adriel Latchmansingh 11/1, 11/0, 11/0 and Paige Fernandes defeated Beau Fernandes 11/5, 11/7, 11/6.

Haley Carpenter defeated Isabella Ramjohn 11/1, 11/1, 11/1 while Harding dismissed Teija Edwards 11/2, 11/0, 11/0 and Madison Fernandes crushed Aliyah Persaud 11/4, 11/3, 11/2.

In the boy’s section, Shomari Wiltshire continued his impressive showing, defeating Daniel Islam 5/11, 13/11, 12/10, 11/5 while Jason Gomes crushed Liam Carpenter 11/5, 11/1, 11/2 and Samuel Ince-Carvahal overcame Dominic Collins 8/11, 7/11, 11/7, 11/3, 11/2.

Continuing in the same section, Zach Persaud defeated James Mekdeci 11/6, 11/6, 11/5 while Lucas Jonas defeated Gianni Carpenter 11/7, 11/7, 11/5 and Ethan Jonas defeated Liam Carpenter 11/2, 11/0, 11/1. Meanwhile Michael Alphonso defeated James Mekdeci 11/2, 11/3, 11/0 while Nathan Rahaman crushed Louis DaSilva 11/3, 11/2, 11/6 and John Phang brushed aside Nechemiyah Levans 11/6, 11/2, 11/2.

Zach Persaud defeated Gareth DaSilva 11/2, 11/0, 11/3 while Shiloh Asregado downed Noah Rahaman 12/14, 16/14, 11/7, 11/9 and Demetrius DeAbreu edged Kamir Khan 11/5, 11/5, 11/3.

In the final matches of the division, Nathan Rahaman defeated Noah Rahaman 11/2, 11/4, 11/5 while James Mekdeci defeated DaSilva 11/5, 11/3, 11/0, Mohryan Baksh defeated Chad DeAbreu 11/9, 11/9, 11/7 and Khan defeated Mashal Allicock 11/5, 11/1, 11/6.
