used to identify individuals who possess Guyanese heritage and currently play the game at a high level as well as to expand the selection of the women’s programme.

According to Bolton, a second camp will also be held in the month of July locally and that the federation will aim to bring in the players from the Canadian camp to local shores.

He added that current head-coach Mark Rodrigues has an extensive scouting network to identify players of Guyanese heritage that can become eligible to represent the country at the international level.

Following the resuscitation of the women’s programme, Guyana will compete in the Caribbean Zone 2015 Women’s Olympic Qualifiers campaign.

Guyana, currently in group-4 along with the Cuba and hosts St, Kitts and Nevis, will open their campaign August 21st against the host nation.

They will then end their tourney on August 25th against Cuba.

Group-1 which will be hosted by Puerto Rico, will comprise Grenada, Haiti and Aruba while group-2 will consist of St Lucia, Antigua and Barbuda, the Cayman Islands and hosts Trinidad and Tobago.

Suriname will act as hosts for group-3 and will battle the likes of Dominican Republic, Dominica and Jamaica for a berth in the next round. Unlike the male version which has an u-23 age limit, the female edition will not have an age stipulation for the qualifiers.

Upon the conclusion of the CFU stages, the top three teams will progress to the 2016 CONCACAF Olympic Tournament.
