Starting today at the Gandhi Youth Organisation (GYO) ground some 31 players will compete in the first of two trial matches for a place on the Demerara female under-19 and senior squads ahead of the Guyana Cricket Board’s (GCB) senior inter-county competition.
Each trial match will last for 50 overs per side on each day and will be used to select the Demerara 14-member squad for the inter-county competition. The second trial match is expected to be played tomorrow.
However, the GCB is yet to release the full fixtures for the inter-county tournament but the U-19 competition is set to commence on Wednesday. A date for the start of the senior tournament is yet to be disclosed.
The following players are asked to assemble promptly at 9:00 am at the ground: Akaze Thompson, Kavita Yadram, Tanesha Johnson, Nalini Sumintra, Latoya Smith, Hema Singh, Leana Harris, Lashauna Toussaint, Natasha Archer, Candacy Richmond, Amanda Shoepersaud, Junita Hooper, Reakha Roopnauth, Kristal Lee, Mitra Rajaram, Mandy Mangru, Shirley Boyce, Shamica Mingo, Amanda Persaud, Priya Kishun, Cynthia Rampersaud, Yogeeta Balkishun, Bibi Rafeek, June Ogle, Hema Singh, Hasina Mohamed, Joan Vansertima, Odessa Oneil, Katana Mentore, Jennetta Daniels and Jocell Jophest.
