Guyana’s Mc Kenzie MVP candidate at CARICOM c/ships

Despite Guyana failing to secure a win throughout their CBC Women’s Championship in the British Virgin Islands, Marian McKenzie is being touted as a possible most valuable player (MVP) candidate due to her statistical exploits in the event.

According to the statistical classes of the tournament, the Guyanese captain McKenzie features in seven of the nine individual categories, with an average rank of 2.71 places amongst the aforesaid sections.

In the points scored section, McKenzie led the tourney with a total of 122 points across five games at an impressive average of 24.4 points per game. Similarly, she claims the first spot in the steals division, claiming 22 steals over the event at an average of 4.4 per game.

Further examination of her numbers highlight that McKenzie claims the second position in the three points made category with 13 conversions at an average at 2.6 per game and the free-throws converted section with 29 at an average of 5.8 per match.

In the rebounds section, Mackenzie finished in the fourth position after pulling down 58 rebounds at 11.6 per game, 39 of which were on the defensive end while 19 came on the offensive front. She would also finish in the fourth position within the free throws percentage category, attempting 40 of which 29 were made at a conversion percentage of 72.5.

The final section that McKenzie features is the three point average division, which she converted at a percentage of 37.1 percent per game after making 13 of her 35 attempts in the event.
