The National Aquatic Centre, the open roads and the National Park will be buzzing this weekend when the Guyana Olympic Association (GOA) and its affiliates stage a team and individual triathlon and the Olympic Day Run/Walk/Jog.
Following a team draw at the National Park on Saturday from 6:30am to 8:30am, swimming will kick start the weekend’s activities of the triathlon. At the Aquatic Centre, the swimmers will race for 750m, then hand the baton over to the cyclists for a 20km ride which will be followed by a 5km race in the national park by the athletes.
