Consistent rainfall last evening forced match 24 of the Hero CPL T20 tournament between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and the Jamaica Tallawahs o be abandoned without a ball being bowled at the Guyana National Stadium, Providence.

The match was scheduled to bowl off at 18:00hrs but the outfield was completely waterlogged during most of the day but the groundsmen worked tirelessly to ensure some amount of play would have been possible after some three hours of play was washed out.

Both teams took to the middle after the rain stopped and engaged in some warm up football but the heavens opened once again. Official word came a few minutes after 20:00hrs that pitch inspection was expected to be at 21:00hrs with possible start time of 21:24hrs as a five-overs-aside encounter.

However, a few minutes to nine the showers returned with a vengeance thus resulting in the match being officially called off, much to the disappointment of the sold out crowed who seemed very hyped and ready for some T20 action.

This now means the Warriors who are in fifth place, have seven points from seven matches while the Tallawahs who are number two on the board, have nine points from nine games. Guyana defeated Jamaica on Sunday by 84–runs at Sabina Park after Assad Fudadin and Brad Hodge struck fifties.

The next assignment for the Warriors will be the Zouks who are positioned third on the leader board; the match is expected to bowl off at 20:0hrs at the Guyana National Stadium tomorrow night.
