Gladiators promise to bring ‘A’ game to tonight’s bodybuilding show

Fitness fans get ready, the highly anticipated Supligen Mr. Guyana Bodybuilding and Fitness Show will be staged tonight at the Park Vue Hotel, Farm, E.B.D.

The cream of the nation’s musclemen and women outfitted with rippling abdominals, well defined quadriceps, sculpted arms and bikinis will be on display as they battle for supremacy and the tag of Guyana’s top bodybuilder and fitness athlete.

This year’s event promises to be of a higher standard than the previous championships since many of the athletes are seasoned and have competed in many shows before.

Not only will the nation’s best physiques turn the stage into their battleground, but for the first time, the flourishing Men’s Physique segment will be contested on the senior stage.

Aesthetics, symmetry, muscularity, confidence and of course brightly coloured board shorts will be present.

Patrons at the venue can look forward to local hunks posing and flexing their V tapered physiques in a showdown of the ‘battle of the board shorts’.

Like any new division, it will have some growing pains. The judges will have the unique opportunity this year to set the standard for what they deem the ideal physique in the division.

BodyMaxx’s Emmerson Campbell, Yannick Grimes, Fitness Paradise’s Caerus Cipriani and Tej Mohall Fitness Centre’s Chaitram Nagessar are some of the known competitors vying for the title of the first ever Senior Men’s Physique champion.

Look for the guys to be dialed in, with their V-tapers and their robust stage personality. Everybody wants to win, so you can be sure the whole field will ‘bring their best package’.

On this highly anticipated night, musclemen and women will compete for cash prizes, trophies and supplement hampers.

When interviewed, the gladiators promised to bring their ‘A’ game to the stage.

Organizing Secretary of the federation, Videsh Sookram opined that this year’s competition is shaping up to be the “most competitive one in the last decade”.

Sookram stated that two-time Mr. Guyana, Kerwin Clarke will have his hands filled with musclemen like the reigning Flex Night champion, Godfrey Stoby and last year’s Novices champion, Sylvester Andrews and the likes of Clint Duke, Marlon Bennett, Alex Hamilton and three-time CAC gold medalist, Devon Davis.

To add some international flavour and excitement to the event, the federation has recruited 16-time CAC welterweight champion, Hostin Worrell.

Affectionately called ‘Biscuit’, the Barbadian bodybuilder has posed and flexed his way to numerous titles. They include Mr. Barbados, Mr. Bridgetown, Mr. St Michael, Mr. Darcy Beckles (six times), winner of the Sports World Invitation Classic (welterweight) and did we mention 16 time CAC welterweight champion?

The championships starts at 19:00hrs and admission is listed at $1500.

See you there.
