Substantial submissions made for sport in 2016 budget – Jones

Jones then noted that funds budgeted by the previous government are sufficient for the remainder of the year.  Said Jones via telephone “Provision is there that will allow the sports department to operate as normal and we will continue to assist clubs and associations and so forth with grants etc. However, in terms of major developments, that will only be had after the 2016 budget as a result of submissions that I would have already made for the 2016 budget.

Jones who is currently in Suriname discussing matters pertaining to the Inter Guiana Games added “Mainly due to the fact that we only have a few months before the year is out, whatever provision was submitted before the new administration would have been for an entire year and we only have a few months before the year is out plus my submissions that I have already made are for the 2016 budget, so in the 2016 budget you will see a reflection of items for sport which should be quite substantial.”
