Bacchus is new Albion Cricket Club president

Imtiaz Bacchus is the new president of the Albion Community Centre Cricket Club following the clubs’ Annual General Meeting Monday at the Main Hall of the Albion Community Centre.

According to a press release, Bacchus, a retired Senior Laboratory Technician at Guysuco’s Albion Estate, replaces Lloyd Kanden who did not seek re-election due to ill health. Kanden had been president for the past 13 years while Bacchus previously served as the club’s vice president for over 15 years.

Romeo Singh is the new vice president while former Berbice and Guyana Youth Manager and current Human Resources Manager of Guysuco’s Albion Estate Vemen Walter was returned as ssecretary.

The club’s new treasurer is David Latchaya while there is also a new assistant secretary/treasurer namely Joshia Dhanai.

Three committee members were also elected in Totaram Haricharand, Ritesh Umroe and Fredrick Hussain.The release stated that the new executives will meet December 30th to name the club captains, vice captains and managers of the respective teams, together with the sub-committees for the year 2016.
