Retrieve Raiders remain unbeaten

Retrieve Raiders concluded the preliminary round in the LABA-sanctioned Malta Supreme Christmas Open Championship undefeated, downing Half Mile Bulls by a 61-52 margin on Wednesday at the Mackenzie Sports Club (MSC) Hardcourt.

With both sides entering the matchup undefeated, the duo of Dwayne Roberts and Louis Webster ensured Raiders maintained their streak as they netted 16 and 15 points respectively. Assisting with 10 points was Keon Cameron.

On the other side, Terron Welch netted a game-high 17 points while Dennis Niles supported with 11 points. Due to the win, Raiders will oppose fourth seed Amelia’s Ward Jets in the semi-final on December 28th at the same venue.

Meanwhile, Bulls will oppose Victory Valley Royals in the second semi-final fixture. The contest started brightly for Bulls as they took a marginal 17-16 lead following the conclusion of the first period.

However, Raiders began to seize control of the fixture in the second period, outscoring Bulls 16-11 to take a 32-28 half time lead. The lead was further increased in the third stanza as they outshot Bulls 14-10 to enter the final period ahead 46-38.

The win was then sealed in the fourth period as Raiders once again outhustled Bulls by a 15-14 margin. The grand finale of the event is scheduled for January 2nd 2016 at the same venue.
