ABC Academy closes down

-Principal cites ill health

Private school, the ABC Academy has decided to close its doors after many years in existence.

Principal Arthur Bernard Chandra has said that the closure is due to his deteriorating health and inability to find a substitute to fill his position.

In a notice to parents dated June 15, Chandra said that the closure was due to his deteriorating health and “lack of a substitute for my position, I am closing the school in the best interest of those at ABC Academy.”

He continued that the overwhelming challenges of maintaining the school has affected his health tremendously and thus he is unable to continue. “This notice gives everyone ample time to make alternative arrangement for September 2016,” he said.

When contacted yesterday, Chandra had no further comment to make.

One parent who has two sons attending the school told this newspaper that the closure has left parents in a bind as they now have to hurriedly find new schools.
