Evolution teaming up again with Digicel on cancer awareness

Cycling club, Team Evolution will once again partner with Digicel for one year to promote the message of Breast Cancer Awareness in Guyana.

Team Evolution will also take the lead in coordinating the fifth staging of the ‘Digicel Breast Cancer Awareness’ road race.

These and other details were disclosed recently when representatives of the telecommunications company and the club met at Digicel’s head office in Kingston where the annual fixture was launched.

During the launch, it was disclosed that the event which attracts the cream of the nation’s wheelsmen will pedal off on October 30.

Digicel Senior Sponsorship Manager Louanna Abrams told reporters that the event is one of the biggest on the company’s calendar.

Said Abrams “Digicel has been successful in hosting the Digicel Breast Cancer Awareness Cycle Race which has proven to be one of our most successful current signature events. The Sponsorship Manager pointed out that “Digicel not only gives opportunities to young upcoming cyclists but we make a sizable contribution to aid breast cancer awareness across Guyana.”

President and Secretary of the club, Keith Fernandes stated that he was pleased to be associated with Digicel and will work assiduously to ensure that the mandate that the company envisions will be carried out seamlessly.

Similar sentiments were echoed by Secretary of the club, Andrew Arjoon.

Last year’s race comprised two stages (approximately 80 miles) and was won by Team Coco’s Raynauth Jeffrey.
