President in Morocco for climate meeting

President David Granger has described Guyana’s ‘green state’ policy as central to the long term development of the country, following a briefing meeting with the technical team attending the 22nd Session of the Conference of Parties to the United Nations’ Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP22) in Marrakesh, Kingdom of Morocco, a release from the Ministry of the Presidency said.

Mocha Arcadia man charged with spate of robberies on East Coast

Police today said that a twenty six year old serial robber of 86 Nelson Street, Mocha Arcadia, EBD, who along with an alleged accomplice used a motor cycle to commit a spate of robberies on Gas Stations and Supermarkets on the East Coast of Demerara, was this morning remanded to prison until December 15, 2016, after he was charged with six counts of armed robbery and attempted robbery between October 19 and November 11, 2016, taking away in excess of $3.3 Million dollars in cash and valuables.

Steyn out for six months after shoulder surgery

CAPE TOWN,  (Reuters) – South Africa’s fast bowler Dale Steyn has undergone surgery and will be out for at least six months after breaking a bone in his shoulder in the first test in Australia earlier this month, Cricket South Africa said yesterday.
