Peru president proposes dredging reservoir for gold

LIMA, (Reuters) – President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski proposed dredging a reservoir in a dry northern region of Peru to extract what he described as “much more gold” than what the country’s biggest gold mine holds, according to an interview with a local newspaper.

Further murder charges expected for May pirate attack

The police are expected to return the case file in relation to the seven month old piracy case during which fisherman, Hemchand Sookdeo was attacked and killed, to the force’s legal advisor for further advice, since searches for the other three missing crew members have since proven futile.
