The Red-breasted Meadowlark, formerly known as the Red-breasted Blackbird, is common near rice cultivations and countrysides here.  Locally, they are more well known as the “robin redbreast”.  The male does a spectacular display where he flies up into the air and parachutes down with half-folded wings while singing.
