Evergreen Christmas Trees

Thuja Arborvitae commonly called Evergreen Christmas Trees originated in North America and Eastern Asia. They are from the Cypress family.

These Evergreen Christmas Trees are well known and popular. They are hardy, fast growing and easy to grow and maintain There are many varieties of Thuja Arborvitae. The most popular variety is the Emerald Green Thuja, grown in Florida, the Caribbean, which has adapted well in Guyana.

This tree is cylindrical in shape  maturing at approximately eight feet.

The leaves are soft and flat, growing in clusters of a rich green foliage which creates an attractive  specimen plant in your garden or in front of  your yard. Dig a deep hole and plant Thuja in well-drained soil in full sun; give a good drink of water. From time to time you may get some brown  leaves. When this happens check your plant to see if all is well with it.

It is best to clean out the brown leaves or dead branches. Fertilize with  Osmocote Slow Release Fertilizer once per month.Thuja can also look in

credible in large decorative pots right alongside your driveway or    entrance or try planting a couple of them in a  row. They look magnifi- cent! This year I am lighting up my Thuja Christmas Tree.

You can add small to medium light decorations to your tree if you wish, along with lights. They look awesome! Remember to take care of your new plants and the Poinsettias you may have received  as gifts.

Have a Happy and Blessed  Christmas.

Until next week,

Happy Gardening.
