Milroy Abrams of 14 East Ruimveldt, Georgetown is accused of having in his possession, on December 30, East Ruimveldt, 18 grammes of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

Abrams pleaded not guilty.

Prosecutor Deniro Jones stated that the police, acting on information about Abrams selling narcotics from his home, went to Abrams’s home but he refused to let them in. However, Abrams’s brother, who’s a police officer opened the door which then led to the police catching Abrams flushing the substance in question down the toilet. Some was retrieved and a search of his room revealed 11 grammes of narcotics in a calabash.

Abrams’ lawyer brought to the court’s attention the fact that no search warrant was presented when the police went to the defendant’s home.

Prosecutor Jones confirmed the lawyer’s statement by stating that the accused’s file made no mention of a warrant being served.

Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan remanded the defendant and adjourned the matter to January 18, 2016 in Court 3.
