Cops seeking three suspects in Brazilian miner’s murder

The police are currently pursuing three suspects in the murder of a Brazilian national who was found with his throat slit in a mining camp located in the Cuyuni district on Tuesday.

The dead man has since been identified as Nandinho De Costa, called ‘Vandam,’ of Boa Vista, Crime Chief Wendell Blanhum said yesterday.

The discovery was made around 6pm at Fish Creek Backdam, Cuyuni River, where the man’s body was found next to a sluice box. A quantity of gold was missing.

De Costa was last seen on Tuesday washing down the sluice box with the three suspects, this newspaper was told. He is the owner of two land dredges.
