Amelia’s Ward youth gets bail after being charged with car mirrors theft

An Amelia’s Ward youth was yesterday granted his release on $15,000 bail by a city court after he denied a charge of simple larceny.

Ty Porter, 23, of Lot 883 Amelia’s Ward, Linden, pleaded not guilty to stealing two rearview mirrors from Phillip McPherson between February 9 and February 10. The theft, in which the items valued $30,000 were taken, allegedly occurred at Lot 622 South Amelia’s Ward.

With no objections being offered by the prosecution, Porter was granted bail by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan and told to make an appearance before the Linden Magistrate’s Court on February 24.
