At a hearing on Tuesday, Magistrate Rhondel Weaver granted Hannibal his pre-trial liberty after the police failed to institute further charges they had indicated at his arraignment.

Hannibal, 45, of Rosignol, had been charged on February 2nd with the crime and had been remanded to prison since then.

Hannibal, the founder of the Faith Deliverance Ministries, was not required to plead to the charge, which was read against him at an in-camera hearing.

Scores of his followers had swarmed the courtyard to show support for Hannibal.

His next hearing is scheduled for March 1.
