According to a press release, the Women in Business Expo will provide a platform for women to exhibit their product and services and network with other businesswomen. Entrepreneurs are encouraged to register regardless of the business they operate.

The motivational seminar, which will be moderated by international Crea-tive Director Richard Young, is designed to offer a safe space for women to share their life journeys and stories utilizing a guided and dramatic technique, the release said. Designer Sonia Noel has been identified as one of the women and the identities of the others will be disclosed closer to the event on the Oxygen with Nicole Facebook page.

The release stated that WASD is a social group aimed at empowering women, which was founded Noel and officially launched on September 20, 2015 in the presence of First Lady Sandra Granger.

Some of its objectives are to provide a forum for business and professional women to relax, renew and rejuvenate while providing support and mentorship to youth and each other and an environment conducive towards the formation of a sisterhood dedicated towards the development of self, family, society and country.

The release said it also seeks to harness the skills and talents of professional women through networking and the exchange of ideas to create an advanced society, as well as to organise and build strong, confident, intelligent and empowered women who are committed to the task of building a progressive society.

Meanwhile, the release also said that Oxygen with Nicole is the brainchild of Trinidadian Nicole Dyer Griffith who crafted it as a means to channel the airing of women’s concerns while championing the untold stories of their achievements. Having constructed a “safe space for the ventilation of two successful instalments of the series in Trinidad celebrating resi-lience, sacrifice, integrity, dignity and downright empowerment of women, it was felt that a regional presence was needed,” the release said. The Guyana event is the first installation being held outside of Trinidad and Tobago. It is being held in partnership with the Ministry of Social Cohesion and the Ministry of Social Protection. Scotiabank is also on board as an event partner, along with Trinidad based, NDG Communications and Consulting.
