Wash bay owner remanded on ganja trafficking charge

A wash bay owner was on Monday denied bail by a city court after he was charged with having cannabis for trafficking.

Leroy Robertson, 35, of 17 Broad and Lombard streets, Charlestown, was accused of having 38 grammes of cannabis in his possession for trafficking on February 19, at Broad Street, Charlestown.

The prosecution told the court that the police had seen Robertson throw a bag containing the narcotics over a fence. Bail was objected to due to the nature and circumstances of the charge. As a result, Robertson was remanded until March 10.
