Clarke, pleaded not guilty to the charge after it was read to him by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan

Attorney-at-law Mark Conway requested that his client be placed on bail because he is the sole provider for his child. Counsel also said that he had been in the lockups for over 72 hours, where he claimed he was terrorised by the police. Prosecutor Deniro Jones had no objection to bail.

Bail was set at $75,000 by Magistrate McLennan. Clarke is to return to court on April 11, for statements.
