About 0240h. today, the police say that ranks of the City Constabulary received a report that a man was seen breaking into an electronics equipment store in the Stabroek Market.
The ranks responded and challenged Demon Booker, 24 years, of South Ruimveldt Squatting Area, Georgetown, who was seen in the store and he attacked them with a knife, the police say.
He was shot to both legs and has been admitted to the GPHC under guard.
A claw bar and a bag with a number of cell phones and laptop computers were recovered.
Investigations are in progress.
