New executive, council elected for Central Corentyne Chambers

Chief Executive Officer of Raffik & Sons Constructions Mohamed Raffik has been elected as President of the Central Corentyne Chambers of Commerce for the year 2016 to 2017.

Raffik was elected during the Chambers’ 12th Annual General Meeting on March 30, 2016, a press release from the Chambers said.

Former Chambers president Imran Hamid, who is proprietor of Imran & Son, Daughters Family General Store, was elected as Vice-President; Harry Dass Ghaness, Branch Manager of Republic Bank (Guyana) Ltd’s  Rose Hall Town Branch, was elected as Treasurer; Tajpaul Adjodhea, Branch Manager of Hand-in-Hand Insurance, Berbice Operations, was elected as Assistant Treasurer; Poonai Bhigroog, who also served as president and is the proprietor of Poonai’s Pharmacy & Animal Health Care, was elected Secretary; Krishnanand Raghunandan, anthropologist, was elected Assistant Secretary; and Surendra Ganesh, Chief Executive Officer of Nand Persaud Group Packaging, was elected as Public Relations Officer.
