His attacker, who is known to him, ran across the road, grabbed a piece of wood from the cart and struck Seelall to his head.

Seelall was immediately taken to the New Amster-dam Hospital, where he received emergency treatment and then transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital. The injured man sustained injuries to his head and face.

Seelall underwent surgery yesterday to remove blood clots that were on his brain and the surgery was said to be successful, but he is still unconscious and is said to have a fractured skull.

According to the injured man’s father, the attacker is well known to the family. He said that though the attacker and his son had known each other for a long time, they were not close friends.

According to a police source one person has since been arrested and is assisting with the investigation.
