Kuru Kuru man on ganja trafficking charge

A Kuru Kuru resident was on Monday remanded to prison after being charged with having a kilogramme of cannabis for trafficking.

The court of Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan heard that on April 14, at Kuru Kuru, Linden-Soesdyke Highway, Handel Solomon, 27, allegedly had in his possession 1,000 grammes of cannabis for trafficking. Solomon pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him.

Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones, who objected to bail, told the court that the analysis report is still outstanding.

Solomon was refused bail by the Chief Magistrate, who adjourned the matter until May 12 for report.
