Two held over ganja at Ogle Airport

Two persons including an aircraft loader of Trans Guyana Airways were arrested on Sunday afternoon at the Ogle Airport after they allegedly attempted to smuggle less than two kilogrammes of marijuana onto an outgoing flight.

The discovery was made by ranks of Police Narcotics Branch.

A source told Stabroek News that the aircraft loader was allegedly found with four parcels of the drug strapped to his abdomen.

He was about to board a flight LI 512 which was destined for Barbados.

He was arrested and implicated an aviation officer who was also taken into custody.

The find was made about 15:40 hrs Sunday. The men remained in custody up to press time last evening.
