Investigations, police say, are currently being conducted into the murder of Candacy Pitt age 31, of 18 Chelsea Park, East Coast Demerara which occurred yesterday about 21:45h.
A release from the police said that Pitt who worked as a security guard attached to the Bygeval Secondary school was attacked by her husband at her workplace and dealt multiple chops about her body but not before he first attacked and chopped security guard Brenda Thomas aged 51 years of Chelsea Park who had denied him entry into the compound to see his wife.
The police say that they were rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where Pitt was pronounced dead on arrival and Thomas admitted. The police say that the husband of Pitt, Athlone Pitt surrendered to the police and confessed to the crime.
He is currently in police custody assisting with the investigation.
