Shawn Adams, the New Amsterdam Hospital porter who was discovered dead in his yard last week died as a result of drowning, an autopsy has revealed.
Adams, called ‘Baccoo,’ 40, a father of three was discovered dead in his yard filled with overgrown grass at ‘the track,’ within the Mayor and Town Council Scheme in New Amsterdam on May 30. An autopsy done by Dr Nehaul Singh at the New Amsterdam Hospital revealed that he died as a result of asphyxia due to drowning.
Adams’ body was discovered by his wife Trishelle just after 5am on Monday after she opened her front window and saw his bicycle lying across the entrance to their wooden cottage. She had said that Adams was an alcoholic and the doctor had stopped him from drinking. However, he continued to drink. Adams was buried at the Stanleytown Cemetery in New Amsterdam on Friday.
