A passenger of a Route 42 minibus was yesterday arrested after police conducted a search on the vehicle and found a pistol along with several rounds in his possession.
The discovery was made around 14:10 hrs on the Providence Public Road, East Bank Demerara.
The police in a press release said acting on information received, the minibus was swiftly intercepted and a search was conducted during which a .32 pistol and eight live .32 rounds were found tucked in the pants waist of one of the occupants.
He is currently in police custody and charges are expected to be laid shortly.
