Guard injured in Albouystown crash

A Sentinel Security officer is now a patient at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was run over by a Toyota Hilux jeep.

Orville Valentine, 48, was on Monday, run over by a Toyota Hilux jeep, PRR 404 after it was hit by a Toyota RunX, PMM 2216 at the intersection of Hunter Street and Independence Boulevard, Albouystown.

Speaking to Stabroek News yesterday from his hospital bed, Valentine stated that he vaguely remembers what happened on the day of the incident but recalls being picked up by the police and rushed to the hospital.

As a result of the accident, Valentine now has injuries to his left foot, left arm and ribs. His left foot was wrapped in a cast while his left arm was in a sling.

Valentine’s sister, Cloreen, stated that from what she heard a woman was driving the vehicle that toppled after hitting another car which caused it to fall on her brother.

According to Maryland Valentine, Orville’s brother, the individuals who hit his brother were taken into custody.

Valentine, of 75 West Ruimveldt remains a patient at the GPH but the family remains unsure as to whether he will need to undergo surgery. They stated, however that Valentine is being monitored by the doctors.
