It is also alleged that on the same day and at the same location, Hardy robbed Dwayne Singh of a gold chain valued $400,000 and a gold earring valued $100,000.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to both charges. The prosecution made no objection to bail but requested that if it were to be granted, that it be substantial.

Hardy, of Lot 1 Laing Avenue, sported a swollen eye during the hearing and he told the Magistrate prior to the charges being read that it was as a result of an incident involving the two men in the matter.

The court heard that the items were not recovered and the file is incomplete. Bail was subsequently denied by the Magistrate and the matter adjourned to June 28.
