Five acres ganja destroyed along Berbice River

The Police conducted several drug eradication exercises on Saturday along the Berbice River.

A police press release yesterday said that during the operation, over five acres of cannabis cultivations, several nurseries, in excess of 600 kilograms of dried cannabis and five camps were discovered and destroyed by fire. The plants ranged between two to seven feet.

No arrests were made, the police said.
