A Guyhoc Park resident was yesterday remanded to prison after facing a charge of attempted murder at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court.
It is alleged that on April 20 at South Ruimveldt, Georgetown, Keon Hall, 23, unlawfully and maliciously wounded Michelle Drennon with intent to commit murder. Hall was not required to plead to the charge after it was read to him by Chief Magistrate Ann McLennan.
Police Prosecutor Deniro Jones objected to bail based on the gravity of the charge. According to Jones, Hall was arrested on June 7 after a wanted bulletin was issued for him. He had been on the run since the incident. The prosecutor later added that the file is not yet complete since two witnesses’ statements are still outstanding.
Hall was remanded to prison and the matter adjourned to July 6.
Stabroek News had reported on April 21, that Drennon, a 25-year-old waitress and mother of an 11-month-old boy had been stabbed at least four times about her body allegedly by her common-law husband, who had barged into her Lot 1607 Cadet Lane, South Ruimveldt, Georgetown home.
According to reports, the man was previously charged with assaulting her and relatives said she had recently returned to live with her parents after she and the suspect had an argument.
