Scottish firm gets $29m contract to design police info command centre

A Scottish firm, Diligent World Limited  has won a $28.8m consultancy contract for the establishment of a Communications and Information Command Centre for the Guyana Police Force (GPF).

This was one of the contracts given a no-objection by Cabinet this week according to Minister of State, Joseph Harmon.

Information released at the post-Cabinet press briefing yesterday said that Diligent was single-sourced at a cost of US$137,521.  No information was released on why this was so. Single-sourcing is meant only for emergency situations and where the service can’t readily be obtained from other sources. Diligent will provide consultancy services to “design an institutional framework for the establishment of a communications and information command centre” for the GPF.

The company’s website says “Diligent World is a well-balanced team of complementary talents and skills who are ambitious and energetic, sharing a strong common sense of purpose and vision to address shortcomings in the acceptance of, awareness, and/or understanding of risk within both private and public sector organisations.

They are a formidable force, bringing rigour, resilience, and unconventional thinking in order to address and resolve complex risk situations, drawing upon an extensive network of highly-specialised subject matter experts in all aspects of risk management”.
