The Region Executive Officer (REO) of Region Five has been transferred to Region Seven.
Chairman of Region Five, Vickchand Ramphal, confirmed yesterday that Roderick Edinboro was transferred to Region Seven by the Ministry of Communities.
Ramphal told Stabroek News that the move comes in light of the recent criticism from the councillors about Edinboro’s performance.
“Over the last few months councillors on both sides were dissatisfied with Edinboro’s performance, which forced them to bring the issue to the Ministry of Communities and the actions were subsequently taken,” he said.
Ramphal stated that the transfer is effective as of July 6 and Ovid Morrison is slated to take over the position.
