Bail denied to Linden man accused in car burglaries

A Linden man was yesterday charged with multiple counts of larceny stemming from a series of break-ins over a four-month period.

Ryan Samuels, 37, of Lot 11 Central Amelia’s Ward, Linden, pleaded not guilty to the four charges read against him when he was arraigned before Magistrate Clive Nurse at the Linden Magistrate’s Court.

It is alleged that Samuels, in the period spanning March 10 to June 16, 2016, broke and entered the shop of Micah Wilson, at Co-op Crescent, Mackenzie, and stole $56,000 worth of electrical equipment.

It is also alleged that he stole two rearview mirrors, valued $84,000, from a car belonging to Colin Alleyne, of Half Mile, Wismar, a deck, an amplifier and a battery, valued $79,000 in total, from a car belonging to Jermaine Douglas, of Canvas City, as well as a cell phone, a tape deck, and a car battery, all valued at $145,500 in total, from a car belonging to Maitek Duncan, of Buck Hill, Wismar.

Samuels was remanded to prison and is to return to court on August 24 for his next hearing.
