Guyana prepares to host Caribbean Cuboree

The 14th Caribbean Cuboree was officially launched on Tuesday at the Scout Association of Guyana’s (SAG) Headquarters on Woolford Avenue.

According to a press release from the Scout Association of Guyana, the event will be hosted from July 24 to 29 for the first time in Guyana and will see 1,000 youths from 14 countries.

Camp Chief of the Cuboree Zaida Joaquin provided an outline of the events that will unfold during the week, the release stated.

The opening ceremony will be held at D’Urban Park on July 24 at 15:00 hrs. There will be a culture day on July 26, torch light parade and campfire on July 27 and a concert on July 28. President David Granger, a patron of the SAG, will deliver remarks at the opening ceremony.

According to the release, the event is being sponsored by Banks DIH and Digicel.
