“I saw him about 6:30 pm yesterday [Saturday] because he said he was going to the shop which wasn’t that far away,” his mother Iris King told Stabroek News yesterday. The distraught woman recounted that her son had mentioned to her that he wanted to attend a wake several villages away but he did not confirm whether he was going.

“He told me that he would’ve call me and tell me if he was going to but he never did,” the woman related. She said that she was not sure where her son went after he visited the shop or where he was coming from.

Iris said early yesterday morning, she was greeted with the bad news when someone related to her that her son had been in a motorcycle accident.

She recalled that she rushed to the hospital where her worst fears were confirmed when she saw the lifeless body of her son.

Police investigations are ongoing.
